Unit 3 - Solving Inequalities
- Single/Multistep Inequalities
- Compound Inequalities
- Absolute Value Inequalities
http://www.corealgebra1.com/Auth/Test_Login.htm
Unit 3 is comprised of applying the techniques used in solving equations to solving inequalities. There are many situations in the real world where there is a point at which all numbers in one direction (along the number line) will provide an acceptable result and all in the other direction are unacceptable. This situation requires and inequality rather than an equation.

Each lesson is comprised of a video lesson with downloadable lesson worksheets with and without solutions and a series of graded practice exams which provide step by step solutions to every problem on the exam.

Section 1 - Single Variable Inequalities x + 1 ≤ 7

Students will learn to apply the same steps used to solve equations to solve and graph single variable(linear) inequalities.

Section 2 - Compound Inequalities 3x + 1 = 2x + 3

Students will learn to solve and graph compound inequalities where the inequality can be split into 2 parts and 2 varieties ('and' and 'or').
Section 3 - Absolute Value Inequalities |x|<y => -y < x < y
|x|>y => x < -y or x > y

Students will recall the concept of absolute value and apply that to solving inequalities which require the absolute value operation.
