Unit 5 - Understanding Functions
- Identify & Evaluate Functions
- Direct Variation Functions
http://www.corealgebra1.com/Auth/Test_Login.htm
Unit 5 is where you will build on your knowledge of equations and relate the solutions to graphs. You will learn functional notation and how the input and output of an equation/function can be related to variables and tables. You will be able to identify what is a function and how to identify one. Direct variation functions and function rules for arithmetic sequences will be learned.

Each lesson is comprised of a video lesson with downloadable lesson worksheets with and without solutions and a series of graded practice exams which provide step by step solutions to every problem on the exam.

Section 1 - Identify and Evaluate Functions f(x) = 2x-4

You will learn to identify and solve both singular and nested functions. You will learn how to find the domain and range of a function and how to find the constant of variation (a.k.a. the slope) of direct variation functions.

Section 2 - Direct Variation Functions f(x)=mx

You will use inductive reasoning to solve and write Direct Variation Functions from word problems.
