Factoring expressions is a key concept of Algebra 1 and is a prerequisite to solving higher level equations. Student who master this unit tend to be very successful in Algebra 2. Each lesson is comprised of a video lesson with downloadable lesson worksheets with and without solutions and a series of graded practice exams which provide step by step solutions to every problem on the exam. Section 1 - Classify & Combine Polynomials 5x^2+3x-3 Students will learn to classify polynomials by term and degree. Students will also learn to add and subtract polynomials. Section 2 - Multiply (FOIL) Polynomials (x+3)(x-7) Students will learn to combine and simplify polynomial expressions. The FOIL method will be taught for multiplying binomials. Section 3 - Factor Quadratic Polynomials 5.6 X 10^2 Students will factor quadratic expressions by removing the GCF or by factoring into binomials.
